About LandVision NZ
LandVision Ltd is an independent company offering a range of sustainable land management advice and tools to individual farmers, companies, and local bodies throughout New Zealand.
The company director is Lachie Grant, who is joined by a team of skilled people who are all passionate about agriculture and land management.
Core services include:

- Land Resource Inventory and Land Use Capability mapping surveys

- Wetland and riparian management

LandVision is also currently a service provider of Land and Environment Plans for NZ Farmsure, the farmer-driven quality assurance programme, design by farmers for farmers. In addition to this, LandVision are also involved in Horizon’s Sustainable Land Use Initiative.
The LandVision team have strong farming backgrounds and many years of experience in whole farm planning, land resource surveying and environmental management. They will provide innovative practical solutions to your farm business.
Lachie has many years experience in land management and forestry. He has a Masters in Agriculture Science, majoring in soils, erosion processes and land resources. Lachie has a strong background in farming systems, agricultural engineering, nutrient and pasture management.
Some of Lachie's achievements include facilitating numerous “Soils Underpinning Business Success (SUBS)" groups in the lower North Island. He was a member of the development team of the "Farmsure" programme, and a facilitator of the Taranaki Tree Trust.
Lachie has also undertaken many sand dune restoration programmes, provided advice on erosion control and riparian management, developed and issued resource consents, and managed forests through the Manawatu/Wanganui area.
Lachie has a passion for land management. He understands farming systems and is committed to working with farmers to maximise returns under a sustainable landuse regime.
Doug was raised on a dairy farm in the Bay of Plenty and, after spending 14 years in the health industry, has returned to his agricultural roots. He has just completed his Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in agriculture at Massey University and has been working with LandVision since.
Doug received the 'Massey University 2006 Practicum II Award' for his report writing, and was one of the recipients of the Advanced Sustainable Land Use Scholarship from Horizons Regional Council.
Doug brings to the team a strong understanding of soil science and agriculture systems, along with plenty of enthusiasm and humour. He is keen to continue to grow his experience in surveying land resources and farm planning.
Janet has spent many years working as a personal assistant and administrator in the education, justice and finance sectors, and decided she wanted a change. She loves the outdoors and was brought up on a hill country property in Raetihi and spent time farming in the Turakina valley.
Janet has a strong interest in the rural industry, which she is now combining with her great administration and computer skills. She utilizes the GIS applications to provide the team and clients with high quality maps and products, and also ensures the LandVision office runs smoothly. She provides the support and humour for the office, and is greatly enthusiastic about developing the mapping capabilities of LandVision.
